We had a great time performing at a local nursery with our Little Red Riding Hood and Friends show. We’ve been presenting shows for over 25 years to early years and always have lots of fun as children love to see the big colourful sets and props. Children have lots of fun taking part pretending to be wolves, playing Jack’s Baked Beans in Cinderella’s band and getting to meet all of Red Riding Hood’s family. We want young children’s first experience of theatre to be fun and enjoyable, so this is a non scary version of the fairytale and they get to take part almost every 5 minutes!
This is a comical story involving Little Red Riding Hood and his family as well as characters from other fairytales.Red Riding Hood’s friend arrives to tell us the story but finds there are no pages in the book. He starts the story but gets it wrong. Cinderella comes to help, dancing the conga with her twin sister and the band. She suggests wolf auditions and one wolf has to go and meet Grandma!
Little Red Riding Hood and Friends is ideal for under 5s and has played many children’s centres and nursery groups. This is a friendly, funny introduction to Red Riding Hood for nurseries without any of the scary parts.This performance uses mime, slapstick, some sign language and is presented with a full set, lights and props. It is incredibly flexible and can play to big or small spaces and can even be used outside during summer.
