Big Goldilocks and the Three Bears Plus… is a comical retelling of the traditional tale that children will definitely never have heard before! Told through a 6ft tall book with pop ups, the story reveals itself from its disguise and flies into the skies as we follow Big Goldilocks on her adventure.
After finding her mum and dad in the audience, Big Goldilocks wanders off and into the forest but soon gets lost and gets hungry, grumpy and tired. In fact, she gets so grumpy, that she scares away all the forest animals in an Animal Rescue Centre or ARC as they sing ‘The Animals Went In Two By Two’. But without the animals she doesn’t know where to go and ends up getting stuck in a cottage, luckily this cottage seems ideal for sitting, eating and sleeping in! Soon she falls asleep, but the Seven (not Three!) Bears arrive back home and need the help of the audience to scare Big Goldilocks out of their house…
This is an ideal traditional tales theatre performance for primary schools for Book Weeks or to encourage the topic of retellings of tales. There are lots of chances for children to join in and take part in the performance, whether it be helping the narrator, dressing and helping to pretend to be the silly forest animals or even being the Seven Bears!
