Traditional Tales Show for Primary Schools

We had a great time celebrating a PTA event with a fully packed gym hall watching Big Goldilocks and the Three Bears Plus… Some fun pictures below of our Big Book, some bears in disguise and an animal helper or two.

Big Goldilocks and the Three Bears Plus is a traditional tales show for primary schools, libraries, venues and almost any setting that can fit in a 6ft tall book! This show has been seen to hundreds throughout the UK, wowing audiences with one of the biggest books that they will ever see. The well known tale is retold for primary aged children as we follow the narrator Ted and watch as the story reveals itself from it’s disguise right before our eyes.

Traditional Tales Show

The story begins with the narrator Ted trying to find the story, but everything is hiding or in disguise! He turns himself into Big Goldilocks and after finding mum and dad in the audience, decides to go down to the woods today. But soon the story is going off into the skies after all the forest animals are scared of Big Goldilocks and how grumpy she is, so they fly off in an Animal Rescue Centre or ARC to escape singing ‘The Animals Went In Two By Two’. Without the help of the forest animals, she can’t find her way around and suddenly gets lost in the forest…luckily she spots a cottage that looks perfect for sitting, eating and sleeping in! Our version of the tale has not just the Three but the Seven Bears coming back home, and they don’t seem too happy to see Goldilocks in their house. Will the audience be able to help scare her away?

Big Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This story features a 6ft tall book with lots of big pop ups, colourful illustrations and massive cornflakes packets as well as lots of chances for children to join in either helping the narrator, dressing up as forest animals with our silly props or even playing the Seven Bears! Our theatre shows feature big backdrops and we bring our own lights to create a colourful transformed space, but are also incredibly adaptable and can fit into a wide range of spaces, inside or out – just call us to discuss your ideas.

Please note that we also have 7 other touring productions, several which feature the retelling of traditional tales from ‘Little Red Riding Hood and Friends’ to ‘Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus…’.
