‘Little Red Riding Hood and Friends’ has been touring the UK a lot this year, we have had lots of fun as you can see from the pictures below, fitting into all different kinds of spaces! Our comical Red Riding Hood fairytale theatre show is a fun and fast paced show which has been used either as a fun festival busking piece for family audiences, in shopping centres for cultural projects, schools, libraries and even a play area recently!
Little Red Riding Hood’s friend has arrived to tell the audience the story after finding himself and his suitcases in a forest. He tries to read from his book but is surprised to find that there are no pages left! So he remembers what he knows of the story and we get to meet Little Red Riding Hood’s mum, her lumberjack dad and a very ditzy granny. They are definitely not the typical fairytale characters you’d expect! But he gets stuck, and has to call Red’s best friend for help, Cinderella. She arrives dancing the conga with her Jack’s Baked Beans Band and said the best way to remember the end of the story is to find the wolf. Cinderella thinks that we need to hold auditions to find them, and the best auditionees seem to be hiding in the audience…
This is a very funny and fast show with lots of chances for the audience to join in and help. They get to take part in telling the story and we always get at least 15 children to take part!
This is an extremely flexible show and has been played in a variety of settings, inside or out. This piece has worked well in schools, libraries, festival settings, as a busking piece and even a pub cabaret!
