Booster Cushion Theatre tour all throughout the UK to primary schools with our Big Book shows. Our Old McDonald primary school show is a great way to introduce young children to theatre and give them a special, fun experience to remember. ‘Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus…’ is an engaging show with lots of participation, familiar stories and rhymes with a twist and as it is part improvised, a special tailored show for your audience! Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus… mixes the traditional tale of the Three Pigs with the well known rhyme of Old McDonald had a farm presented through a special Big Book 5m wide with 2.5m pop ups. The Three Pigs live on Old McDonald’s farm and are getting fed up of singing ‘eieio’ so they decide to move out of their barn across the farm. While moving out their barn, they meet loads of other farm animals and learn about the food growing in the farm fields. But when they try and build their houses, they are faced by the not so scary wolf, and the audience have to help to stop the houses being blown down!
This is a great theatre show for primary school audiences, and plays extremely well to nurseries and KS1. This show has been used by lots of primary schools as a first introduction to theatre, as a special school treat or even as a way to celebrate Book Weeks. With lots of participation from the audience as farm animals and even one child as the Three Pigs, everyone feels involved as if they are a part of the story themselves.
