We are currently touring our Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus show throughout the UK. This year it has visited children’s centres, primary schools, libraries and venues, meeting lots of new farmhands. A fun, solo storytelling show with lots of chances for the audience to take part makes this show ideal for all occasions.
A mix between the Old McDonald song and the traditional tale of the Three Pigs, this comical show uses audience participation to tell the story. The Three Pigs are sick of singing ‘eieio’ and so decide to move out of their barn on the farm. But when they leave their farm they meet all the other farm animals and the food that is growing in the fields. Children get to help with this aspect as with our colourful and silly props, they get to pretend to be the farm animals and other lucky farmhands get to help with the harvest in picking the foods off of our fields in the Big Book. They also get to take part in the final bit of the story, scaring away the not so scary Wolf when he tries to blow down the pigs houses, with one child even getting to play the Three Pigs!
Our Old McDonald farm show is extremely flexible and has been used in a variety of spaces, big or small. We are used to performing in spaces which usually wouldn’t be able to accomodate theatre and making into a theatre experience! Booster travels with backdrops big or small, can be played inside or out and sometimes we can perform with just the Big Book itself as it is so big it almost makes a set in itself!
