Old McDonald trained twice the amount of farmhands recently in Wickford’s children centres. With full audiences in both children’s centres we managed to get everyone in to enjoy Old McDonalds farm. Booster Cushion Theatre specialise in making children’s theatre for nurseries, and we make sure that all of our shows are as accessible as possible and that everyone gets to join in and have lots of fun!
One of our most popular shows, and the one that you can see in all the photographs is ‘Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus…’. This comical show mixes the tale of The Three Pigs with the nursery rhyme of Old McDonald Had A Farm. The three pigs are fed up of singing eieio all the time in the barn and decide to move across the farm, where they meet lots of different farm animals and see the different foods growing in the fields. But when they try and build their houses, they are very grumpy to see that the wolf has shown up and keeps trying to blow them down!
The audience has lots of chances to help in this story as they get to play the farm animals using our silly props, sing along to our wacky version of Old McDonald Had A Farm, help with the harvest and even scare away the wolf at the end of the story.
Booster aims to make shows as flexible as possible so that we can fit into many nurseries and children’s centres spaces. In this post you can see the versions that we travel with, as we can shrink our shows depending on the space – in the last picture, we only performed with our Big Book prop and still had a great time!
