Traditional Tales Theatre Production for Primary Schools

Booster Cushion Theatre have currently been touring our traditional tales theatre production for primary schools throughout the UK. We took Big Goldilocks and her ARC to Guildford schools in February. So lucky we have a boat built into the Big Book with the unpredictable weather that month. We had a great time and managed to get some shots of the Big Book to show you how it looks in a school setting. This is a comical retelling of the traditional tale as told through a Big Book.

Big Goldilocks talks to her mum and dad and asks to go for a walk in the forest, whether they agree or not, she decides that because she is BIG Goldilocks she’s allowed to. But soon she finds herself lost in the forest, hungry, grumpy and tired. The forest animals notice her and decide they better escape before she gets really grumpy at them – and run away on an Animal Rescue Centre or ARC known in short. But Goldilocks keeps going further into the forest and wanders into the Three Bears House..and they’re sure to be in for a big surprise!
There is lots of participation from the children in the audience, as they get to play the forest animals, Big Goldilock’s mum and dad and even the Three (or Seven as we twist the tale) Bears at the end of the story! This helps to engage them in the topics that they are learning about such as traditional tales and encourage them to write their own twisted versions of stories they know.
