Booster Cushion Theatre have specialised in making primary school productions for over 25 years. We are very interested in getting the best out of the spaces in the school, where productions may not normally be possible. A variety of our shows can be performed in nearly any space, inside or out.
We always carry sufficient electrical equipment so we can light a space that does not have power to create a theatrical environment. Additional to this, we carry a variety of backdrops that can accommodate a variety of room heights and widths. Many of our shows are waterproof, so can withstand a short shower of rain if we choose to work outside.
Above is a production set in a small garden space in a primary school, North London.
To make sure that we can get the best out of every space, we will liaise with you to find out where you are going to place the production and arrive at least an hour and a half before to assess the space and set up in the best way for a show and causes least disruption for the normal school day.
We normally find that a primary school hall is used for lunch and as such, it is best to organise the show for the start of school, as this means the show is able to be packed away before the dinner ladies set for lunch.
Above is an example of one of our primary school productions, ‘Old McDonald and the Three Pigs Plus…’ in a shared hall, Buckinghamshire. This is one of our most flexible shows as it can be played with a backdrop or just the Big Book, with or without lights and is waterproof.
